Inspired by…… Artist Florence Broadhurst

You can only imagine my excitement when I turned the corner and came across this…

(A New York City corner, not Whistler….)

Kate Spades mobile “pop-up” shop. Japanese Floral courtesy of world-renowned wallpaper and textile designer Florence Broadhurst.

I may have swooned…..

I would be quite content having this parked in my driveway. Oh, and of course, this little beauty for quick jaunts to the grocery store or  to the lake for a swim.

I am quite intrigued and definitely inspired by designer Florence Broadhurst. A musician, painter, designer…

She led a very secretive, yet colorful life. Her final demise ~ murdered ~the mystery still remains unresolved.

I need to find out more about this woman and her life. I am also thinking that I may have to pop over to Kate’s for a little piece of my very own Flo.

Here are a few more of her designs.

As part of Kate Spades Spring 2012 campaign this “shop” will be traveling cross-country. Next stop:
Seattle!

Hope you enjoy!

Looking for a little more on Florence Broadhurst. If you don’t have time for the movie, you will like this…
