Inspired by…my words

My words for 2012

word of the year

I couldn’t pick just one!

There are three areas of my life that I want to concentrate on this year.

Body ~ Mind ~ Soul

Unfortunately I couldn’t come up with one word that encompassed the big picture. Connection was close, clarity would have been better.I was in search of a word that would tie it all together and make it as one since these areas of my life are so closely entwined. If one falters, so do the others..

It was then that I decided to come up with a number of words and create a collage of relevant words just for me. While I quite like my collage of words, I would prefer one word so all suggestions are welcome. I know it will come to me eventually.

journal,art , writing

I have created this on the first page of my spanky new 2012 journal.Soon to be filled with notes, tidbits of inspiration, quotes, goals to accomplish, lots of writing…LIFE!
It is close at hand, ready to be viewed when needed. My goal now is to break the areas of my life into smaller subsections and smaller goals.

Body ~ health, fitness, diet

Mind ~ creative curiosity,knowledge,clarity

Soul ~ spirituality,family, community

The process….I am still working on it…

Stream of consciousness writing. Discovering words that resonate with me. Words that have meaning in my day to day life.A plan of action. This is the year to tie up all of the loose ends I have created.

art journal

Lots of blank pages. Lots of art and writing to come…

Solvitur Ambulando ~ “it is solved by walking”

Stretch your body, stretch your mind, stretch your soul.

Whatever you think you can do, or believe you can do, begin it, because action has magic, grace and power in it~ Goethe

Happy New Year,my friends! I wish you all a sparkly, brand new, blank slate of endless possibility! xox

  2. Thanks for the link to the word of the year thing. I was just curious. It seems like I’ve seen a few bloggers mention it lately. Another great post!

  3. Julie – I dont have a word suggestion for you, but I loved the phrase Creative Explosion you had on your word collage! Also, the Solvitur Ambulando – my goal is to walk my way through stress instead of eat my way through it. So that totally resonated with me! Thanks!!!

  4. A word..how about consuming…my own artistic affliction ( I love this btw) is all consuming, with me all the time and never leaves…it even awakens me at night with all sorts of mad ideas! I love your work and can’t wait to see that journal throughout the year..All the best!!

  5. I love ‘action has magic’ so good! Your journal is beautiful, i have two words this year ‘inspired’ & ‘focus’, i hope 2012 is a great year for you!

  6. Nothing wrong with having lots of words to lead us through the new year. One may come into focus, or you may find that several laced together work best for you. Looking forward to following your journey this year my friend.

  7. I quite liked your word collage, as well. I think your one word will find you. Great post! Wishing all good things for your body, mind, and soul in 2012. Happy to be flying with you!

Happy to be soaring with you in 2012. 🙂

  11. Beautiful post, Julie! With all those wonderful words, it would be difficult to choose just one. I like your mind, body, soul concept. Enjoy your journal and happy wishes for a fantastic year!

  12. So inspired by your journal, Julie! Just beautiful!! It was a real treat to take a peak at your creative process–thank you for this post. Wishing you the best for 2012!

  13. I love your post and feel it is fine to come up with a collage of words when one just won’t do. This is a creative approach to setting your course for the new year.

  14. You are all so supportive. Your encouragement always means so much! Thanks for following. I think we all need to touch base every few months and these bloghops are a perfect way to do just that:)
    Thanks girls,
    Julie xo

  15. This is my first time visiting your site, and I love it!!!! I also loved this post and the collage of life’s important words…I’m real believer in walking to get my creative juices going…..it is solved by walking….walk on!

  16. Love your post, and maybe you should just keep those 3 words that mean so much to you. After all, I don’t think it’s picking just one word, it is making a conscious choice to do something in 2012.

  17. Your spanky, new journal is wonderful – you are going to have a wonderful time filling it with all things meaningful to you in 2012! It is hard to come up with just one word – I looked at all of my words and tried to boil them down to what achieving them would bring to my life. I don’t know if that will help you or not, but I thought I would at least pass it along! It will be fun to see what you come up with!

  18. Ahhhh, always makes me so happy to drop by here. I totally dig your automatic writing. Some of my favorite journal entries are simply done with black line on white paper. The word that stood out to me is STORY…with you in the middle. Stories have medicine the way I see it…so do words. I hope you have a fabulous year, so grateful to have connected with you through the FlyTribe.
